On September 18th, Netflix offered a sneak peek at its upcoming film adaptation of Roald Dahl’s “The Twits.” The streaming giant released a first-look image of the movie, which is set to premiere on their platform in 2025.
“The Twits” is an animated feature based on the beloved Roald Dahl children’s book of the same name. The adaptation is both written and directed by Phil Johnston, known for his work on “Ralph Breaks the Internet.”
The story of “The Twits” revolves around the eponymous Mr. and Mrs. Twit, a couple described as the “world’s smelliest, nastiest people.” The narrative centers on their interactions with “two brave orphans” who embark on a daring mission to outsmart this repugnant duo.

Netflix’s acquisition of the Roald Dahl Story Company and its extensive catalog in 2021 has paved the way for a comprehensive Dahl-inspired content universe. This includes a diverse range of projects spanning films , television shows, books, games, and more, all based on the author’s beloved works.
Among these ventures is “The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar,” a short film adaptation of another Dahl tale. This project is written, directed, and produced by acclaimed filmmaker Wes Anderson and is set to debut on Netflix on September 27th.
