National Television Awards 2022: The winners list with why, Before settling down for a night of honoring success in all genres of television, including drama, comedy, documentaries, and TV presenting, Britain’s television talents shined on the red carpet.

At London’s Wembley Arena on Thursday night, the yearly celebration honoring the best in the previous year’s television was held.

The nominees were revealed in August, and Bridgerton, Heartstopper, and Peaky Blinders all received several nominations.

The NTAs stand out because they are the only UK TV awards show where all of the winners are selected countrywide in a poll of the general public.

After the victory, Phillip addressed the crowd and pleaded with them not to think we ever take anything for granted or get complacent. Every year, but especially this year, this means the world to us. The best boss ever is ours.

Earlier this year, the short list of contenders for the prizes determined by popular voting was released.

The event was shown live on ITV this week (Thursday, October 13), with Joel Dommett serving as the host.

Joel Dommett, a comedian and the evening’s host, said at one point that he had given the Challenge Anneka star three minutes to get to the stage and present an award before the Channel 5 show returned the next year.

After being nominated against legendary broadcaster Sir David Attenborough, Mr. Lewis acknowledged his astonishment at winning the award and praised the other nominees, Jay Blades of The Repair Shop and farming contractor Kaleb Cooper.

Sir Lenny Henry received the coveted gold special recognition award from the NTAs in celebration of his extensive and diversified television career.

Anton Du Beke of Strictly Come Dancing won the talent show judging category after beating out David Walliams, Mo Gilligan, and RuPaul.

The Good Morning Britain host Kate Garraway took up the award for a best-scripted documentary for a second time. After her husband, former political consultant Derek Draper spent a year in the hospital being treated for coronavirus, she received the award the previous year for a program about their family’s lives.

She took home the award this year for her follow-up program, Caring For Derek, in which Mr. Draper and Garraway revealed insights into their family’s lives as he continues to struggle with the virus’ long-term effects.

Other drama series, including Charithra Chandran and Jonathan Bailey for Bridgerton, Cillian Murphy for Peaky Blinders, Kit Connor and Joe Locke for Heartstopper, enjoy nods in their show categories as well as for individual actors.
